CalCommander is the interface to operate Calmetrix I-Cal and F-Cal calorimeters, but it can also be used with other calorimetry equipment such as the Thermometric and TA Instruments TAM Air, Grace AdiaCal and AdiaCal TC. In addition to being an operating interface, CalCommander has several data analysis modules for quick interpretation of current and archived heat curves.

Operate your equipment: I-Cal Logger and F-Cal Logger

CalCommander's Logger modules are simple to use, intuitive software tools to operate your calorimetry equipment. Starting your equipment requires only one click, although there is plenty of room to capture and store mix data.
 

Visualize test results and create reports: I-Cal Reports and F-Cal Reports

CalCommander's Reports function has everything that is needed for fast interpretation of test results and to prepare reports. You can display and analyze curves from saved and archived test runs, zoom in, create standard reports, export data into spreadsheet compatible formats or edit data. In I-Cal Reports, you can also choose to display Power as a function of time, or total Energy, as well as Power and Energy by unit weight of cement or cementitious material.

 

Determine Activation Energy

Activation energy is often used in maturity-based predictions to infer propensity of cracking or compressive strength gain. I-Cal AE determines the activation energy of a predominantly portland cement-based mix, or a high volume pozzolan mix, or even alkali-activated systems such as geopolymers. The Activation Energy calculated with I-Cal AE can be used in third party software applications such as Texas Concrete Works (register and download a free copy here), which models the temperature profile in concrete under different external circumstances.
I-Cal AE also draws the Arrhenius plot, which quickly characterizes the behavoir of a specific mix and its sensitivity to temperature variations.
 

Correlate Energy of hydration with compressive strength gain

If you have a standard mix, or a mix that you use often in your reaseach or commercial delivery, we recommend CalCommander's I-Cal Strength software module. Owners of an I-Cal calorimeter can use I-Cal Strength to determine the relationship between the hydration energy as measured by the calorimeter and compressive strength gain. The next time you are using the same mix, CalCommander models and calculates compressive strength at different curing ages. All that is needed is the isothermal calorimetry curve. You can even infer a compressive strength estimate for the curing ages that happens after-hours in your lab, when nobody is available to test your cubes or cylinders, easy.
