Application Video 1: Effect of Mix Design Changes on Performance
This video shows how to use calorimetry to assess how concrete or mortar performance is affected by changes in mix design. Calorimetry testing is by more convenient and less costly than equivalent physical testing such as set time or compressive strength tests.
The technique shown in the video has a wide range of applications, including mix design optimization, research and product development (narrow down multiple samples to a few "winners"), or quality control (e.g. selection of materials, study sensitivity to admixture dosage variations, etc.).
